Doing Good

for self, society, and the world

July 26 - August 3
2026

Triêm Tây, Hội An

Doing Good: for Self, Society, and the World  is an experiential program that invites youth to question, explore and practice what living a good life means for them.

In a time marked by disruption, uncertainty, and profound global challenges, what does it mean to live a good life? What does it take to be a good person? What does doing good look like in our own unique contexts?

Doing Good: for Self, Society, and the World  is a United World Colleges short course that weaves together local wisdom, intercultural dialogue, and philosophical reflections to explore these questions. Participants examine their own values, purpose, identity, and responsibility through community-based, lived experiences.
Based in Triêm Tây, an ancient bamboo village and vibrant eco-tourism community in Hội An, this 9-day program invites participants to consider not only who they want to become, but how they will choose to show up for themselves, for their communities, and for the wider world.

LIVING
QUESTIONS:

What does it really mean to live a good life?
What does it truly take to be a good person?

TESTIMONIALS

Here's what past participants say:

One of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

It made me realize that even the smallest act of kindness can create a deep sense of purpose and connection. Seeing the positive impact of my actions...gave me a kind of happiness that material things never could.

It taught me that goodness isn’t just about changing others’ lives, it changes yours too. It made me feel lighter, more grateful, and more human.

Doing Good 2025 Participant

It helped me understand how I can make a positive impact in my community. I learned about privileges that I was not conscious of before, and also the importance of helping others, working as a team, and being more aware of social issues.

The course was engaging, with interesting activities and real life examples that made me reflect and want to take action.
