Dear Friends, Five years ago, a health scare left me shaken. In that uncertain time, it was the kindness of the Vietnamese community that carried me through. My doctor accompanied me to early-morning hospital visits, a local bánh mì vendor offered small gestures of comfort, and my students and colleagues gave unwavering support. Vietnam gave me a sense of belonging I hadn’t expected as a newcomer, and I knew I wanted to give back.
Education for Good grew from that moment of gratitude and renewal. My years at UWC Changshu China had already shown me the transformative power of education, but here in Vietnam I felt called to build something rooted in deeper connection—to self, to others, and to the Earth.
It is in Vietnam’s forests and oceans, I have felt this connection most strongly: the stillness that invites reflection, the joy of community around a shared meal, the grounding of being held by nature. This is what we hope every participant will experience through our programs—spaces of care, play, and belonging where bold new futures can be imagined together.
At its heart, Education for Good is a village. More than half of our program participants so far have received financial aid, and each course has been made possible by many hands—participants, families, facilitators, and supporters like you.
Thank you for walking alongside us in this mission, and for helping nurture a more regenerative future through education.
Thank you for being a part of the village.
Yours, Sam Jeong Founder and Co-Director, Education for Good
